Project Focus Areas:Promoting healthy eating
Partner
The project was implemented with the support of Switzerland and UNICEF.
Project Goal
Help Ukrainian families make informed dietary choices, improve their health through proper nutrition, and learn to prepare nutritious meals easily and deliciously.
As part of the initiative, a series of video lessons was created to provide clear guidance on developing healthy eating habits for both children and adults. The videos explain how to balance meals, prevent vitamin deficiencies, and maximize the benefits of natural products.
The video course on healthy eating was developed by chef Yevhen Klopotenko in collaboration with nutritionists from the Association of Adult and Child Nutrition within UNICEF Ukraine’s initiative “Together for Learning”, with support from the Swiss government.
Each video contains simple, practical, and science-based recommendations from leading nutrition experts, along with easy and healthy recipes using accessible ingredients. The course serves as a reminder of the fundamentals of healthy eating and encourages Ukrainian families to adopt better dietary habits for their own well-being and their children’s health.
The video lessons cover the following topics:
- What constitutes a healthy diet
- Why we should eat more fruits and vegetables
- How much water we need daily
- Symptoms of iron deficiency and ways to prevent it
- How to cook meals while preserving their nutritional value
- Essential dietary components for children
- Recommended foods for pregnant women
- Nutritional guidelines for breastfeeding mothers
A video course (series of videos) was developed and published on Yevhen Klopotenko’s YouTube channel and UNICEF’s YouTube channel. The video course is available for viewing at this link: Youtube
