Partners
The project was implemented by a consortium of NGOs, including Cultural Platform of Zakarpattia, JuniorS Movement, UMind, and CultFood, with the support of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine.
Project Goal
The project aimed to promote healthy eating among adolescents and youth, improve food culture, and foster healthy eating habits in children by providing information in an engaging and interactive format.
“HraÏmo” is an interactive culinary-educational game designed for adolescents and youth aged 10 to 17. The project consisted of activities focused on a healthy lifestyle and nutritious eating.
The project was structured into two key components:
1. Offline Activities
These included Healthy Eating Days featuring a series of interactive contests forming the Healthy Plate game. Over 12 months, competitions on healthy eating were held in 38 cities across Ukraine.
Participants engaged in eight fun games designed to:
- Promote knowledge about healthy eating
- Teach how to choose nutritious foods and ingredients
- Explain the principles of daily meal planning.
Throughout the year, participants took part in various interactive activities, with winners of two semi-finals competing in the grand finale in Kyiv.
The final event brought together 22 teenagers from 16 cities, who competed for the title of best Healthy Plate experts. The event was attended by First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, renowned chef Yevhen Klopotenko, and Munir Mamadzade, Head of UNICEF Ukraine. Young participants joined from Khmelnytskyi, Chornomorsk, Kyiv, Vyshneve, Snovsk, Plotycha, Horodyshche, Fastiv, Zavodske, Ternopil, Lutsk, Kharkiv, Bucha, and Zdolbuniv.
2. Online Activities
The online component included educational and entertainment videos on TikTok, where adolescents learned about healthy eating through engaging content and recipes. Additionally, a Telegram chatbot allowed participants to take quizzes and play interactive games, testing their knowledge of healthy eating principles.
882 events held, reaching 19,295 adolescents (including 987 internally displaced youth).
7,116 participants completed interactive chatbot tasks.
The online media campaign reached over 3 million Ukrainians through social media and national/regional media channels.
The TikTok page “HraÏmo” on healthy eating gained:
- 52,000 saves of useful content
- 1.5 - 2 million average monthly views
The project demonstrated a positive trend in increasing awareness and understanding of the importance of healthy eating among participants.
As part of the project, the TikTok page “HraÏmo” (@hraimo_food) was launched and continues to operate beyond the project’s completion. The platform offers healthy recipes that children can prepare independently, along with fascinating facts about food and nutrition.
The content is designed in an interactive and engaging format, tailored to teenagers, helping them develop healthy eating habits and maintain a balanced lifestyle.
